SEAL TEAM 6, Celebrated and now mourned.
I awoke today with news that 30 American soldiers were killed when their helicopter was shot down by those fucking filthy taliban arseholes.. 22 of the 30 were Navy SEALS and some of those were from ST6, none of those directly involved in the capture/kill of BinLaden were amongst the dead although no names have been given while family members are still being notified. This is the worst day for our Coalition friends since entering the hell hole cesspit aka Afghanistan.. Also killed were 7 Afghan troops and an interpreter. This is a tragic day for all personnel of the US Forces and for those of us who hold these men in high esteem.
When I think of ST6 it conjure of visions of a country who waited almost a decade to hear of news that the man responsible for the Sept 11 attacks in the USA was dead, celebrations and cheers for the men who took out the filth and a reminder that men (and women) from the US Special Forces are so dedicated to their country, with so much determination and courage and, I weep for them today as the celebrations held will now turn to grief, anger and mourning.
The loss of so many in such a tight-knitted community is significant. These men are involved in some of the most sensitive counter terrorism operations around the world. These losses will impact them greatly. The Unit that raided the compound where Binladen was hiding has only a few hundred, however, these men are some of the best trained fighters in the US military. They are not to be fucked with and I hope their wrath on those responsible for the deaths today are met with the full brunt of their grunt.
Speaking on condition of anonymity a Western military Official told a reporter the twin said that the twin-rotor CH-47 helicopter had apparently been brought down by a rocket-propelled grenade moments after takeoff from the raid, when it was most vulnerable to attack. Nighttime raids over the last year in Afghanistan have been targeting Taliban leaders, bomb-makers and other key adversaries. It is one of the little-known stories of the Afghan war, because the raids are secret and the results are rarely announced.
Although the filthy talibans did not know how valuable those aboard the helicopter were, I am sure that they will wring and pump this and use it as propaganda, they are probably throwing lollies in the air now. bastards they are. This episode will no doubt embolden the insurgency at a time when Western officials have been hoping a weakened Taliban movement can be lured to the bargaining table, I do not share that optimism and think that taliban can never be trusted and it is naive and dangerous to think or hope otherwise.
Such waste and as tears well in my eyes I turn to the Heavens and say, "Lord keep them all close to you and send angels to watch over their loved ones".
***The Des Moines Register reports (http://bit.ly/ocApZK ) that George Tumilson of Rockford confirmed the death of his son, Jon Tumilson, on Saturday night. The newspaper says George Tumilson and other family members declined further comment.

Sincere condolences and warm thoughts sent to our friends in the States and may those whom have lost family members and friends take solace in the knowledge that we too, mourn the loss of such courageous men and will not forget the sacrifices made in the name of Freedom.
Lest We Forget
